Soap making 12/5/15 with the Young Single Adults.
With a shopping cart barely loaded with supplies and the help of the YSA's we manufactured 278 gallons of homemade laundry soap that is donated to local agencies.
This is what we started with (Approx $40 of supplies) Doesn't even fill the cart!
Many hands make light work. (Group grating the bars of Fels Naptha)
Pouring the concentrate into the buckets
Five gallons to three gallons
Each bar makes ten gallons
Focused on the task at hand
Cleaning up
Getting the buckets ready
Looks like cheese!
This is perhaps the most labor intensive aspect
Always time to visit
Ran out of supplies. A short down time
Chris contemplating
A watched pot shouldn't boil
Stacking the finished product
John doing the mixing - using a drill set up with a paint mixer. Works perfectly!
See, this IS fun!
Look like a mess
Why do we have to clean up after making soap? Doesn't make sense really....
Getting ready to transport
Bev bringing in the buckets
Remember what we started with? Finished Product from Soap Making 12/5/15
Can you believe the difference from the very first soap making project?
Looks like we've fine tuned some production methods.
Of course, bringing in the enthusiastic and hard-working young single adults aided the project immensely! Thank you YSA'S!
